I want to congratulate the new officers who were elected last month and looking forward to an exciting new year. I also want to express my gratitude for the hard work and effort of those officers during this last year who have decided to step down.
Our membership for the second straight year has made quota, I would like to thank 1St Vice Richard Gundelach for doing an outstanding job helping the post achieve that goal.
As of August 7, 2017, all Membership and Executive Meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. The current meeting time for both meetings is 7:30 p.m., the meeting date of the 1st and 3rd Mondays of every month will remain the same.
I want to thank everyone who participated in the Memorial Day activities, it was an extremely busy weekend culminating with three ceremonies on Monday. I also want to thank Capt. Widerson, of Painesville CBOC for giving such a memorable speech reminding us all the importance of remembering that day.
Veteran’s Appreciation will be held at the post this year on September 15th, we are currently planning this year’s event if anyone would like to donate or volunteer please contact 2Nd Vice Larry Wright or myself. There will be fundraising breakfast for VAD on July 16th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. “Christmas in July” and may have a visit from Santa Claus kids eat free. Tickets will be available at the post and Painesville CBOC.
Lastly, it’s not a rumor the Painesville CBOC will be moving to Willoughby in the 1st quarter of 2018. For over a decade Post 336 has enjoyed a great relationship with Painesville CBOC, and we hate to see them leave the city of Painesville. The officers and members of Post 336 wish the CBOC all the best going forward during this transition.
